3/7/12 Athena and Gage - URGENT
We are trying to raise funds to get Athena and Gage to John Archer's so that they can be saved from death at the shelter. If we are not able to raise enough funds to pull them we can return the funds to donators, or you can opt to have the funds go toward Dingo's expenses there instead.

Register Guard Article
The Register Guard in Eugene has written a wonderful article about our program. http://www.registerguard.com/web/newslocalnews/26473054-41/dogs-archer-shelter-dog-hammel.html.csp
We are hopeful that it will help bring in more funding. Right now Gideon and Dingo are both still looking for their forever homes, but if we could bring in additional funding John would be able to take in additional dogs from Lane Co Animal Services. Please share this page and help us raise money for these amazing dogs.

New Dog Coming to Town!
First: Update on Asher: Asher is doing extremely well at the trainer. He is so smart and beyond ready for his forever home! He does have a potential adopter coming to meet him this evening. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!
Second: The new picture you are seeing is Arthur. Arthur has been at the Lane Co. shelter since February. The environment has been breaking him down and it is showing in his behavior. He is getting fixed on Wednesday, and then he is heading to the trainer's. Let's hope the change of scenery will help him a lot. This sweet boy deserves to be happy! We need to really step up our fund-raising with Arthur being moved. Please share this link with everyone you know!

After only 3 days with trainer, Asher gets the OK for adoption!
After only three days with the trainer, he believes that Asher is ready to be adopted. He is a very smart and energetic dog, who needs an energetic owner. The trainer would love to see him go to someone who will work on agility or herding with him.
Asher does ok with larger other dogs when introduced properly and may do ok with a dog-savvy cat, although he may need to be trained to leave the cat alone. He seems to have a bit of a prey drive. This means that if you are not prepared to really work on training for that, he should go to a home without small animals or small children. He needs an experienced dog owner, as well as someone who can show him dominance and patience. We believe he is around one year old, so he is still a youngin that needs work, but good luck finding a smarter dog anywhere! He needs the stimulation of learning new things and he is eager to please.
A note from the trainer about his level of intelligence: "As an example of how smart he is, I was playing tug of war with him, and hooked the rope on a hook I have on a post for dogs to tug against. He pulled
on the rope a while, then released the rope, and stood up to check out the hook. He then unhooked the rope and dropped it to the ground. Game over."
Please spread the word far and wide, let's find him an amazing forever home! The sooner he leaves the training facility, the sooner we can pull someone else from the shelter to put there!
We are going to continue raising funds as long as people will keep giving. Once we have Asher adopted, we will pull a new dog from the shelter to go to the trainer, and we will continue doing this as long as possible, so please keep sharing!!!
